LEVEL 4/5 MODERATE RISK UPGRADE FOR SUNDAY PM... WIND DRIVEN SIGNIFICANT SEVERE EVENT POSSIBLE, IF NOT LIKELY!
* Damaging straight-line winds in excess of 80-100 mph
* If winds over 80 - 100 + verify: Wind this strong most mobile homes will be seriously damaged or destroyed. Many businesses and some homes, especially those that are older will sustain at least some SIGNIFICANT roof damage. Mobile homes while they might be beautiful places to live are significantly more dangerous during tornadoes and or damaging winds especially over 80 + mph vs traditional, site-built homes. They are less sturdy and less likely to be truly anchored, making them more vulnerable to being lifted or damaged by strong winds.
* Now is a time to plan ahead If you live in a manufactured home. Make plans to go elsewhere by later tomorrow afternoon until at least 12a Mon. This holds especially true for those in and near the Moderate risk zone but also extending up into Central sections as well.
* Primary threats:
* Damaging winds in excess of 80 - 100 + mph
* QLCS Tornadoes - QLCS Quasi-Linear Convective System tornadoes are those that form along lines of thunderstorms, also known as squall lines. Unlike supercell tornadoes, which come from individual thunderstorms, QLCS tornadoes are associated with a family of storms moving together as a line. These can form very quickly with little to no advanced warning. So, having a plan and being prepared is KEY! Most of the time these are weaker tornadoes, but not always.
* Large to very large hail - Possibly as large as baseball size
* Flooding rainfall.
* TIMING: Storms could start as early as 1-2p in the NW and spread SE throughout the day. Most likely time in Central sections would be 4p into the late evening. Southern OK / N.TX 6P - Midnight.
* Please, stay very weather aware Sunday pm from Northern - Central but especially along the Red River Valley of S.OK and N.TX.
* This is a VERY SERIOUS situation damaging winds and straight-line damaging winds of 80 to over 100 mph can be extremely serious, if not deadly.
* If you live in Oklahoma and down into Northern Texas pay close attention to the forecast over the next 24 + hours. NBA Finals in tomorrow evening this will be very close call and will need to be monitored closely.
