Our first project in Warren Idaho, a cabin built 20 years ago that looks like it was built yesterday. The project includes pumping water from the bottom of the hill up to the loft into a cistern. Then a combination of gravity and power providing water to a kitchen and two bathrooms. We even talked to the owner into a bbq stub out on the amazing porch that looks out over the mountains. The driveway was so steep we parked the trailer at the bottom and used 4x4 to drive up and down. Best job working in the middle of the National Forest, working off grid.

Riggins project, customer installed a redwood deck in the basement where there used to be two bathroom sinks. This allowed us to install the tub drain and water without having to cut out the concrete. It really makes it have a tropical feel, homeowners were fun to work with. Great customers make the job!

Question for my friends, I installed this countertop, farm sink, faucet and dishwasher for my daughter Lexi Wright. Since it’s one of my children, would you charge double or triple a normal customer? When it comes to my children and they move out it’s time to start getting a return from your investments. Had some help from my buddy David Lorenzo and of course we were supervised by my granddaughter Mazzy. Please note she is my favorite daughter.

The pictures don’t show it but this place was on top of a mountain. Getting the rough in plumbing and gas in before snow hits and we can’t make it up to the high country. It’s rained every day except today which meant packing all our stuff from the bottom of the driveway up a muddy hill, including the tub/ showers.

Busy week, as the cabins start turning on water finding pipes cracked and leaking from freezing. Many of the Secesh cabins are using gravity drain down systems to winterize the water lines that’s worked for 30 years. However water gets trapped and when it freezes expands the copper or galvanized lines cracking them. We recommend using air pressure, connecting a garden or washing machine hose to the water system via an air compressor and blow it out. This will ensure water being removed and no leaks. First picture is an example of gravity drain down system, problem is the not everything is graded, pipes sag or it gets air locked. Second and third picture is a system we installed last week that water can be disconnected from the hydrant which serves for domestic and then easily connected to an air hose for a compressor.
Washer connections to blow out a system could be a water heater drain valve, washing machine box or a boiler drain which is what some people use as a hose bib. A frost free hose bib won’t work as it has a check valve known as a vacuum breaker in it allowing water to flow out not in. Have questions let us know, you can text, email or we can come check out your system and make recommendations.

The summer has started in Secesh. This weeks project, turning a space into a bathroom. Adding waste and vents with water to the sinks, toilets, and shower. Old cabins, nothings square or level, or easy. For us to get the kitchen sink grade to the tie into the main drain we had to cut holes through the cabinet, through the subfloor into the space between floor joists. We cut the hardware mesh, slid the pipe in with plumber tape already on it, used a 6” hole saw to cut access holes to strap up to grade to drop down on the other side for the tie in.

We have a future project of putting in a waterless urinal in an outhouse so I asked Angelina Dunne Briggs to create a little advertising sign for us. She did a fantastic job!
