Job Description
Immediately hiring a Full-time Diesel Mechanic for fleet of Heavy Equipment and Heavy Trucks preventative maintenance and diagnostic repairs at our shop and job sites.
Job Summary
-Mechanic to diagnose and repair company fleet of work trucks, heavy diesel trucks/heavy equipment company vehicles.
-Responsible for performing maintenance and repairs of a significant nature on all types of equipment and/or assisting with repairs/improvements/maintenance of equipment to assure it is in safe working condition keeping equipment running and maintained properly (excavators, graders, dozers, loaders, skid steers, packers, rock trucks, dump trucks etc.) Fabricates, constructs, installs, and repairs equipment.
Duties & Responsibilities:
-Troubleshoot equipment, maintenance problems and properly diagnose to determine necessary repairs.
- Read, interpret, analyze and apply information in technical manuals and schematics.
-Anticipate needed parts and supplies, disassemble equipment and parts, fabricate parts when needed and reassemble equipment and parts
-Performs safety and maintenance checks
-Repairs, overhauls, maintains and services fuel injection systems, exhaust systems, cooling systems, air conditioning systems, lubrication systems
- Take service calls for fleet and repair on site as necessary in the field
-Safely operate equipment, standard and specialty tools, welders, hoists and other lifting devices, etc.
- Adhere to company policies, standards, and safety guidelines, Ensure OSHA, DOT, MSHA, EPA, DNR, safety and environmental regulation compliance
- Perform repairs on large and small engines
- Performs other duties that may arise.
Skills:
-Strong welding & electrical skills are a must
-Stress & time management skills
-Troubleshoot equipment to detect faults & malfunctions
-Determine extent of repair required
-Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts
-Test repaired equipment for proper performance
-Clean, lubricate and perform other maintenance work
-Service attachments and working tools
-Analytical, decision making and problem solving skills
-Effective verbal and listening communications skills
-Keep maintenance records of reports and documentation
Requirements:
-Must have Valid PA Drivers License (CDL a plus)
-Drive and maintain mechanic truck
-Must have welding
-Rebuild handling multiple projects and priorities while maintaining tight deadlines; highly organized with attention to detail.
-Electrical experience for repair and preventative maintenance
-3 years heavy duty mechanic experience preferred fixing construction equipment
-Background working on equipment brands such as CAT, Komatsu, Kubota, CASE, MACK, Kenworth, etc.
- CDL a plus but not a requirement for this position.
