JOB ANNOUNCEMENT AT SAMARA RESTORATION
Samara Restoration seeks a qualified individual to assist in the planning and organization of the Samara Restoration native plant nursery in Mckinleyville. This position is the lead for wholesale and retail plant sales. The sales manager will work closely with the business owners to develop and implement a regional sales strategy. A large portion of this job will be planning for annual and monthly nursery tasks and goals for propagation/production in a highly dynamic and rewarding work environment. 20-40 hours per week.
Pay rate: $20-$25/hour depending on experience
Qualifications:
• A four-year degree in related field (Botany, ecological restoration, horticulture, natural resource management, etc.) or minimum of 4 years of relevant experience (Horticulture, landscaping, ecological restoration, nursery management, etc).
• Valid CA driver’s license.
• Proficiency with Microsoft suite (excel and word).
• Regional plant and horticulture knowledge.
• Good people skills; self-motivated; and good communication skills.
• Knowledgeable and experienced with office and nursery industry standards.
• Preference for applicants with a working knowledge of CA native plant identification and horticulture.
• Preference for applicants with experience with nursery sales and operations.
