Thank you to the Southern Standard for publishing the progress of Petey's Playground for all children. Shade structures will be installed this Fall due to generous private donations, Steve and Kate Smith Foundation grant, and Warren County School System Department of Special Needs support. Additional funds are needed to fully complete the turf surface. The website listed in the article was closed after the initial project was complete in 2014. For more information on how to help fund and complete this project for the kids of Warren County, please contact Zach Sutton at [email protected].

Camp Dream Street. It is a camp for kids with disabilities focused on giving them a typical summer camp experience where disabilities do not hinder participation. Activities include(but aren't limited to) swimming, canoeing, horseback riding, carriage rides, sleeping overnight in bunk house, art and crafts, song sessions, and plenty of games. It looks as though there are still spots available for camp this year. Campers are eligible from age 8-14 with a variety of physical disabilities such as cerebral palsy, spina bifida, limb deficiencies, spinal cord injury, communicative disorders and other developmental disabilities. Abilities range from fully dependent with limited communication to fully independent in motor and self care skills. Camp is free to participants but is in Utica, MS. See picture for more details!

When it comes to babies, our love knows no bounds. From the first time we hear their heartbeat on an ultrasound to the moment we look into their eyes, babies capture our hearts and change our lives. The power of that change is why we invite you to join us today and Post Purple.

As a friend of the March of Dimes, you are part of a nationwide community committed to fighting premature birth — the #1 killer of babies in our country — so that more babies enter this world healthy and full term. This month, our community is showing our strength and commitment to this cause by celebrating the babies in our lives. Take a minute to share a note of love, reflection or advice, and invite others to do the same. Together, we'll fill the Post Purple wall with notes of joy, strength and hope for a world with more healthy babies!

Some notes may be about babies now grown, while others may share fresh thoughts of new arrivals. For some, these will bring memories of joy; others, sadly, may bravely share memories of loss.

Whatever your note may hold, when you Post Purple you stand as a symbol of all we have accomplished to improve babies' health, while spreading awareness of how much more work we have to do to reduce the number of babies born too soon.

Your small act will have significant impact close to home and around the world! So join us, and Post Purple today.
