This is a shout out to the handymen and “contractors” out there. It’s not a good one either. This was from a “contractor.” Three different plumbing leaks. One behind the sink and two at the toilet. The moldy drywall over the wood paneling is a lazy quick fix touch. This is a terrible job and it’s not an isolated incident. Let me start by saying no one can do it all and if they say they do tell them to leave. Contractors used to be “general.” They would bring in all the right guys to do the work. Maybe you’re good enough that it works in your house but you’re not a professional plumber, electrician, roofer, carpenter, hvac tech, etc. It’s arrogant to think you are. I’m tired of seeing this. And for those of you who says my guy does a great job, I can say you’re wrong. I see it everyday. “My guy did a great job.” Yeah is that why there’s a shark bite fitting in the wall covered in calcium? Is that why the 90 behind your kitchen sink comes loose every time I come to snake the drain your handyman fixed? Hire the right guy for the job. I’m going to start pointing all this out and if the handymen and contractors continue this I’m going to start calling you out by name. You’re not plumbers. You’re not electricians. Honestly, you might not even be qualified to do any of this stuff. Let me quickly point out stuff like this is also not uncommon in a house flip. If you see a house go off the market for a short period of time then come back on with “improvements,” you’re likely paying top dollar for work like this.
