Does your roof replacement come with a plywood guarantee?

Ours does, and it just saved this homeowner $2,800.

Before we install a roof, we inspect the attic and include any plywood we expect you might need directly in your estimate. In this case, we planned for eight sheets. Once the roof was torn off, we discovered much more damage than we could see from inside.

There was no change order and no surprise bill. We covered the additional plywood because it was the right thing to do.

You deserve to know the cost upfront, not after your roof is already off.

That is why if we need more plywood than quoted, the cost is on us, not you.

Did you know your bathroom fan should be venting moisture outside, not into your attic?

That warm, humid air from your shower needs a way out. When it ends up in a cold attic, especially during the winter, condensation can quickly become a problem.

When condensation builds up in your attic, it can lead to damaged insulation, roof damage, and leaks.

If your bathroom fan is not vented all the way outside, your home could end up with the same issues we found here.

We’ve seen a lot of questions and concerns about roofs lately, so we wanted to take a minute to talk about ice dams and what’s actually happening.

Snow sits on the roof and begins to melt because heat is escaping from the home.That melted snow runs down the roof toward the gutter.

When it reaches the colder edge, it refreezes and forms an ice dam.
As the ice builds up, melting water has nowhere to go and starts to collect behind it.

That trapped water can work its way under the shingles and cause leaks inside the home.

This usually is not a shingle issue or a bad roof.Ice dams are most often related to heat loss, insulation, and attic ventilation.

This winter has created the perfect conditions for ice dams, even on homes that normally never have problems.

Why does my roof look wavy after a winter install? ❄️🏠

This is a very common question we get this time of year.

If your roof was installed in cold weather, shingles can look a little wavy at first. This is completely normal.

Shingles are asphalt based. When it is cold, they are stiffer and do not lay flat right away. Once the sun hits them and temperatures warm up, they settle, adhere properly, and lay flat. This can take a few days or sometimes a few weeks.

Nothing is wrong. It just needs a little sunshine ☀️
