Typically we have a 4 1/2 inch blank panel in the corner of kitchen cabinets to avoid any conflict between appliance doors. I might have to increase it to 5 inches after installing a new gas stove at my home and only having an 1/8 " to spare.

A red wire nut on an open caulking tube is the best method I've found for preserving the caulking until the next use. Twist it on tight and it seals the air out very effectively so the caulking won't harden up in the stem.

Our clients, the Jorgensen's, arrived home from their 18 month mission in Sweden late last night. I turned over the keys this morning. He's doing his own electrical trim work (retired electrician) so next week we should have final inspections and move in.
Also, the landscaper saved the rose bushes that I have pruned, weeded, & nurtured for the last year when we discovered they had survived the fires. I think there are 6 of them.
