MEDFORD ENGINEERING WOULD LIKE TO INTRODUCE THE NEW INTERNS FOR THE 2023 SEASON!!
ANNIE KING:
Annie is a Wakefield resident studying architecture at Wentworth Institute of technology. She will be entering her sophomore year in the fall.
This young lady is truly a ray of sunshine showing up every morning with a huge smile, upbeat attitude and energy that makes you think she consumed 3 red bulls before walking in the front door!! Sheโs on Wentworthโs track team so after a 10 hour day, she heads home only to go on a 5-8 mile run!!
Our company does a good volume of condo conversion work which entails interior & exterior measurements of 2 and 3 family homes and as you can see from some of the photographs, she hit the ground running on her first week. Annie has done extremely well in a short period of time and is trying to understand the survey aspects and how it intertwines with architecture, structural & civil engineering. Her dad is in the construction business and I believe sheโs hoping one day they get to do a project together!!
Thatโs one thing Iโve really enjoyed with Annie, she talks about family like theyโre her best friends in the world!!
CAITLIN WILLWERTH:
Caitlin is a Northboro resident studying civil engineering at the University of Maine Orono; she will be entering her junior year.
That is correctโฆ she is a Northboro resident who has absolutely no problem getting up at 4:30 in the morning to drive into work for a 7:00 am start. If I said nothing more about her, Iโm sure you can ascertain the type of drive she endures.
Caitlin has been working both in the office & out in the field; sheโs been drafting and doing calculations on varies projects using computer aided design (c.a.d.) software & has been part of a 2 person survey crew learning how to operate a robotic instrument & data collector. Her understanding of survey/civil has been immediate and though weโd like to think weโre incredible teachers here, I believe most of the credit should go to Caitlin and her dad who happens to be a civil engineer by tradeโฆ. Seeing a bit of a trend with the interns and the father -daughter connections!!
Caitlin was asked once โif you had one wish what it would it be?โ She replied, โfor my dog to live forever!!โ
CHRISTINA COSTA:
Youโve been introduced to Christina over the years as this is her third and final year of internship with us. Christina will be attending Suffolk University in the fall for Global Business and Marketing. Simply put, she is that rare find that is both a kid at heart & someone mature beyond her years! High School kids are rarely enthused to come to work, especially after being in classes most of the day, but she did!! Always with a smile, always making us laugh and always making clients feel they had a friend on the other end of the line. She will be missed more than she is aware, but we are so excited to see where she ends upโฆno doubt, a huge success!!
NATHAN ODAMS:
Nathan or Nate is from Methuen, MA and will be joining us full-time. A recent graduate from St. Johnโs Prep, he opted on finding a career path as opposed to entering college for now.
I was truly impressed with Nate when he first reached out to me. We had gotten in touch about setting up an interview and not even 10 minutes after I asked him to come in, he was here. He was quite eager to start working and will help out in any way that he can.
I am looking forward to seeing what he adds to the company.
ABIGAIL (ABBY):
Abby was born in Butler, Ohio and started working here on November 9th. After a bit of training accidents, she quickly learned the art of ringing a bell when she realized it was time to go outside to conduct her business.(we had to explain that not all business is done in the office!!) She was promoted to Director of Health & Wellness soon after and has been greeting employees and clients ever since with her happy smile, wagging tail and an occasional kiss on the nose (face, eye, ear etc.). Abby makes us realize that life is not all about work and that there should be a walk and a bit of playtime throughout the workday. Sheโs learned quickly when to nap and hide under the couch and often reminds me after a long day that sheโs worked enough and would like a change of scenery. Because of her age, we have her only 4 days a week and the rest of the time she has play dates with different dogs in the area. She does not discriminate and plays with all shapes, sizes and colors. Abby believes that there are only two types of Animals; good animals & bad animals!! (a lesson learned during a trip to the local dog park). She has paid medical and recently found out that she can no longer have children. She is protected from ticks and if strays too far away from home, can always be reconnected with her familyโฆ
As you can see from the pictures she is a huge Patriots fan and is a honorary member of the Medford Kiwanis, a service group catering to children, which her dad also belongs to.
These young men and women are kind, respectful, driven, and a pleasure to be around. We're grateful for having them with us. I believe they have bright futures ahead.
We will continue to hire interns, along with full-time employees. If you have someone in mind who may be interested. Please have them forward a resume to [email protected]
