With the winter storm approaching here are some tips and preventatives from RAM HVAC ❄️🔥‼️
Be sure to maintain snow removal from dryer vents and (high efficiency) furnace vents on the exterior of your homes to prevent carbon monoxide poisoning or equipment failures. With that being said make sure you have fresh batteries for your detectors and thermostats.
Your furnaces have been running hard and will continue through this storm. Maintain one temperature above 65 degrees. Changing temperatures in this frigid weather puts stress on the unit and can cause failures.
Plumbing prevention tips: Open your cabinet doors under your sinks for added warmth on the pipes. A slow drip from the sink if you have pipe concerns.
No heat:
Electric heaters & heated blankets. Do not use unapproved, unvented space heaters in the home like propane or kerosene. If you don’t have safe heat resources, Boil water on the stove and or run your oven. Bake a bunch of cookies (win win) 🍪🔥
No power:
Gas stoves. The stove burners will still work with manual ignition with a lighter. Again. Boil water. Be cautious and never leave them unattended.
RAM will be available for emergency no heat service. In the event I cannot get to you timely due to a high call volume I would suggest reaching out to another company. I can give referrals. If you know a senior person or veteran experiencing emergency no heat, I will respond with no service call cost (just repair cost) as long as my schedule allows! Please reach out and or share this post. 🇺🇸❤️
If you have a questions, I will be available by phone to answer any of your questions or concerns!
