🪵 BUILT TO LAST WITHOUT BREAKING THE BUDGET

This customer wanted an outdoor bench that would hold up well outside, but they also wanted the warm look of cedar.

So we built the main frame from pressure-treated lumber for strength, durability, and weather resistance, then used cedar for the seats and center table to give it a cleaner, more finished look.

They also asked for extra support in the center, so we added additional bracing to help make the bench even more solid.

Once everything was finished, the bench was sealed for added protection from the weather.

This is a great option for anyone who wants:

🪵 The look of cedar
💪 A strong, durable frame
🌦️ Better weather resistance
🔨 Extra support where it matters
💰 A more cost-effective alternative to building the entire piece from cedar

One of the things I enjoy about custom work is being able to adjust the materials and design around what the customer actually needs.

⭐ WE’D LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU

If you’ve purchased something from Travis Woodcraft, we’d really appreciate it if you took a minute to leave us a review.

Reviews help small businesses like ours more than people realize. They give new customers a chance to hear from people who have actually bought from us and seen our work firsthand.

Whether it was a planter, lantern, birdhouse, bat house, piece of furniture, or a custom project, we’d love to hear what you thought.

And if you’ve already left us a review — thank you. We truly appreciate the support.

🎃 A LITTLE CUSTOM TWIST ON OUR CEDAR LANTERNS

These are the same cedar jack-o’-lanterns we’ve been building, but this customer needed something a little different.

She wanted to display them in her second-story dormer windows, so we added a 14” riser to give them the extra height they needed.

The best part is the lantern itself is removable from the riser.

That means when Halloween is over, she can take the jack-o’-lantern off and use the same riser with one of our Christmas lanterns when that season arrives.

I really like projects like this because it’s a good example of how a small custom change can make something work perfectly for a specific space.

If you have a space that needs something a little different, don’t be afraid to ask. We’re always happy to see if we can make it work.

🪵 DON’T SEE WHAT YOU’RE LOOKING FOR? JUST ASK.

Some of the most interesting things that come out of the Travis Woodcraft shop start with a customer saying:

“Can you build this?”

Lately, that’s led to projects like barred owl nesting boxes, outdoor furniture, wildlife houses, and even a custom baby shower train.

We have plenty of products we build regularly, but we also enjoy taking on something a little different.

If you have an idea for your home, porch, yard, garden, or even a special gift, send us a picture or tell us what you have in mind.

We may be able to turn that idea into something real.
