Huge news, Mercer: Joe’s Excavating officially took home Best Float at the 4th of July Parade!

America turned 250, and we figured a milestone that big deserved a level of pageantry and high-viz energy that would make the Founding Fathers proud. Our mission was simple: No kid—and no kid-at-heart—left behind without a sugar rush and a core memory.

Because we treat parade logistics exactly like our job sites, we didn’t just wing it.

The Stat Sheet:

180 lbs of high-velocity candy deployed. George, Martha, Ben and Lady Liberty were spreading the fun... as were Kevin and Shirley in the dump truck.

400 Freeze-Pops

500 crowd-pleasing bead necklaces... even got some to folks on the top floor of the Musky!

500 bubble sticks

1,000 glow sticks (because the party doesn't stop at sunset).

A massive thank you to everyone who voted, cheered, and dodged flying Starbursts. It was an absolute thrill to build this for the Mercer community.

Until next year... the trophy sits in the shop, but the excavators are already back in the dirt.

When you buy a home in the Northwoods, you’re buying the view, the peace, and the lifestyle. You aren't buying an accidental cardio workout just to get to the other side of the yard

Before we got here, this side hill was an overgrown, ankle-twisting liability. It wasn't a feature; it was a barrier keeping a family from actually enjoying their property.

The Resolution:
We changed the topography, and created a vibe.

The Path: We leveled, tiered, and crafted an easily traversable, stable walking surface. Now, walking the property doesn't feel like a trust exercise.

The Destination: We turned that steep, unusable slope into a flat, premium lookout complete with a custom fire pit area.

The Craft: The structural boulder walls aren't just built to hold back the earth for the next century—they’re locally sourced directly from our own pit, hand-selected to perfectly match the exact aesthetic of the existing home. We don't do Walmart w**d barrier either. Behind the boulders is a thick felt geotextile fabric that keeps the dirt from washing out while letting water through. No w**ds, no maintenance.

We didn't just move a few tons of dirt and rock. We unlocked a gathering place for this family to make memories around the fire.
