What does it take to deliver successful higher education construction on an active college campus? The recently completed College of Western Idaho Health and Science Building provided valuable lessons in progressive design-build delivery, campus logistics, trade partner collaboration, and construction project management. From accommodating rapid enrollment growth and expanding the facility during construction to coordinating specialized equipment and maintaining daily campus operations, every phase required intentional planning, communication, and problem-solving. These are the challenges that make educational facilities and college campus construction uniquely complex and rewarding.
This project reinforced best practices that continue to guide our work across higher education construction, healthcare education facilities, and long-term campus expansion projects across Idaho. Strong partnerships, early integration of trade partners, and a commitment to continuous improvement helped deliver a facility that serves more than 2,000 students while supporting workforce development and the next generation of highly skilled professionals.
