**Permanent Fence Apprentice/Helper -Construction**

Fence AZ, LLC is looking for a Fence Installation Apprentice/Helper that not only wants to have a job but to have a long-term career. **Pay is $17 - $20 per hour or dependent on experience (DOE).** This position is responsible for assisting with installation, removing, and repairing of permanent fence panels and gates. Successful candidates will have demonstrated reliability, integrity, and an excellent work ethic.

**Job duties include:**

· Assisting in preparing the site area for installation of the fence.

· Locating, understanding markings, and following requirements for underground utility safety prior to digging.

· Aligning posts using lines or by sighting and verifying vertical alignment of posts, using plumb bobs or spirit levels.

· Setting posts into ground, asphalt, or concrete using a jack hammer, core drill, and/or a gas/air pounder.

· Attaching fence rail supports to posts using hammers and pliers.

· Mixing and pouring concrete around bases of posts or tamping soil into postholes to embed posts.

· Assembling and installing custom ornamental iron fences and gates on customer property.

· Attaching rails or tension wire along bottoms of posts to form fencing frames.

· Carrying panels and materials to site for installation.

· Operating forklift/skid steer and attachments for loading and unloading of trucks and moving materials on company property or at job sites.

· Inspecting and completing safety checklist for all equipment, power tools, and machinery prior to each use.

· Following company and government safety/health rules and regulations.

**Skills required:**

· Attention to detail.

· Ability to read and speak English.

· Mastery with air/hand/power tools.

· Must be able to lift up to 100 lbs.

**Experience Required:**

· 1 year heavy construction preferred.

· Prior fencing experience preferred.

Must have a valid driver's license and clean driving record (no DUI/DWI). We conduct a thorough background check.
