Air Bubbles Coming From Your Pool Return Jets? Here’s What They Could Mean.
If your pool is blowing a steady stream of air bubbles from the return jets while the pump is running, it’s not always “just normal.”
In many cases, it’s a sign that air is being pulled into the system through a suction-side leak before the water reaches the pump.
Common causes include:
💧 A loose pump lid or worn O-ring
🔧 Cracked plumbing or fittings underground
⚙️ Leaks around valves or unions
🏊 Low water level allowing the skimmer to pull in air
While your pool may still seem to be working fine, a suction leak can reduce circulation, make your pump work harder, and eventually lead to more expensive repairs if left unchecked.
The good news? These issues are often much easier
and less expensive to fix when they’re caught early.
