We use a mechanized harvesting system in which trees are delimbed and cut to length (CTL) directly at the stump. By using a CTL system, we reduce damage to retained trees in thinning operations, leave a cleaner woods since the logs are not skidded on the ground to the landing, and is more environmentally friendly due to less soil disturbance, no slash dumped at landing, and higher retention of foliar nutrients within the harvested area.
