G&B with the Top EIFS Project in North America!!!!!

Villas on 24th was recognized with an Excellence Award along with the Project of the Year Award at the annual EIFS Industry Members Association (EIMA) Convention and Excellence Awards Ceremony in Washington, DC. Selected among dozens of submissions from all over the US & Canada, the 3Dimensional facade was just a "little too much" to ignore for the top award.

Rising 30 stories over the West Campus area for the University of Texas in Austin, the exterior facade is composed of over 490 prefabricated panels with various depths of CI ranging from 1" to 13" in thickness, with slopes and angles in multiple directions, using high density EPS and CNC Machine Precut EPS Panels, reinforced in fiberglass mesh, along with multiple layers of hand sanded & polished basecoat materials, followed with multiple applications of sprayed applied acrylic coatings in the main white tone along with various accent colors, add the final touches to this amazing facade.

Fabricated at our shop in Houston, trucked a few hours West and flown in place in downtown Austin in the middle of the night, in order to avoid disrupting the critical path structural schedule, make this project a great example of the great things that can be achieved when designing, planning and executing efforts are all aligned.

Incredible design by Rhode Partners and a seamless ex*****on by our friends at Rogers-O'Brien Construction, brought to life by our most skilled tradesman companywide across the state, with the support of our key vendors and partners across multiple disciplines, just a great overall effort by all involved. Johnson County Foam Inc Sika USA ClarkDietrich Tremco CPG Inc., Excel Engineering, Inc. among several others.

G&B's Planning Meeting for '26-27 was a complete success. Held a little later than usual this year and for once we got away from the SA Riverwalk and held it in Humble, TX of all places. The new home of our Houston Operations and Prefab Facility about to explode!!!

As we head into record backlog territory across all markets, once again, our goals were simple; provide a seamless approach across all offices, restructure our management and operations teams before the storm ahead, along with setting up our most important asset (our employees) for maximum efficiency, personal/professional growth and maximized gains and incentives for all involved.

Extremely Proud of our sales team for the opportunities ahead and cannot be more excited for the record setting performances coming up by our operations and management teams all over Texas.

From our President: a loving tribute honoring his father’s retirement and an inspiring reflection on his father’s life and leadership -

The year was 1994, my father walked into our house after a hard day at work in Monclova, Coahuila Mexico, the place where my sisters and I grew up. The Mexican economy had plummeted and the peso was pretty much worthless, that day my father talked to us and said, "get your stuff ready, we are selling everything and we are headed back to the states". My parents had met in Del Rio, TX in the late 70's, married and made a life in the states until '82 when we all went to live in MX.

By March of '95 and at 40 yrs old, he had found us a home back in Pasadena, TX and landed a job as a plastering laborer, making $6.50/hr. and raising a family of 5. That same summer he dragged me along to work as a 13yr. old kid and as they say, the rest is history!!!

30 short years later, the time has come to bid farewell to my father on a professional level. G&B is proud to announce the retirement of not only one of our own, but our most trusted mentor, trainer, leader and the greatest human I have ever met.

Over the years he held positions as Plasterer, Foreman, Project Superintendent, General Superintendent and Safety Manager, along with being an instrumental leader in our original G&B start up, our first regional office in Houston, our acquisitions/expansions into SA & Austin and our prefab shop in Houston. But his proudest accomplishment was raising our family, putting his kids thru college and being married to my mother for over 45 years and counting. Our American Dream is only possible due to the unselfishness, determination and unmatched work ethic of this great man and living legend Manuel Galindo Sr.

Coming to work will never be the same for many of us, but his legacy carries on and he gets to enjoy his golden years and the fruits of his labor, among his loved ones for many years to come.

1st Annual Foreman’s Fishing Trip – A Huge Success!

This past weekend, we hosted our 1st Annual Foreman’s Fishing Trip out of Waterman’s Marina in Galveston, TX, and we couldn’t be happier with how the day turned out.

It was great to step away from the fast pace and daily pressure of project life and spend the day on the water with the people who keep our jobs moving forward with the Safety, Quality, and Results. The day was filled with fishing, food, cold beverages, great conversations, and well-earned recognition.

We were truly taken back by the incredible support from our vendors and manufacturers who provided sponsorships and gifts for our foreman and spent quality time with our team. Hearing how much they enjoyed the conversations and connections they made with our foremen made the day even more meaningful.
