SUMMARY:
Seeking a motivated and independent mechanic to maintain a fleet of trucks, small engines, plows, and other equipment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Perform preventive maintenance, diagnostic and repair to small engine equipment, such as ExMark and Ferris lawnmowers, w**d whackers, trimmers, backpack blowers, snowblowers, Snowrators and other equipment either in the shop or in the field.
Perform preventive maintenance, diagnostic and repair to all trucks, loaders and skid steers, plows and snow pushers, mini-excavators, electric & hydraulic sanders, hydro seeder, mulch blower, trailers, etc. in shop or field.
Coordinate external repairs for field equipment, trucks, loaders, skid steers, small engine equipment, etc. as necessary.
Organize, prioritize, and schedule all shop functions.
Order parts and supplies and maintain an inventory.
Keep garage, yard and facility organized and clean.
Perform necessary service logs, purchase orders and other paperwork.
Communicate with all personnel regarding equipment maintenance and repair schedules.
Follow prescribed safety rules and regulations.
Perform other related duties as required or as directed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Valid driver’s license with clean driver history. Ability to drive large trucks and tow a trailer is required.
Active DOT medical card required. CDL and hoisting license is a plus.
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a commercial garage / shop environment.
Must possess a strong mechanical skill set, including knowledge of basic electrical systems, hydraulic systems, mower technology, and engines (gasoline and diesel).
High School diploma or equivalent GED.
Ability to organize, multi-task, plan and set priorities with minimal supervision.
Welding & Fabrication skills.
Basic computer skills.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Ability to perform physical activities which requires considerable use of arms, legs and moving your whole body such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, and handling various materials.
Position is weather dependent in winter and requires nighttime and weekend coverage.
The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
