By the end of last week, West Nile virus was detected in three more samples of mosquitoes bringing our 2026 season total to 13 positive samples from nine different sites. Vector mosquito numbers actually dropped during the week, while a substantial increase was seen in the nuisance varieties of mosquitoes. Again, nuisance mosquitoes were heaviest along a stretch of the Savannah River east of the Talmadge Bridge to the Fort Pulaski area, where ten traps (of a total of 69 deployed) caught over half of all mosquitoes (57.57%) collected during the week. Cameron and Zack wrapped up a Termite job about the same time as Lynn was out in Claxton , Georgia taking care of this bald faced hornet nest . This nest was an extra spicy one . They were agressivley trying to sting Lynn the entire time he was treating .They will all be getting back in after 8 tonight . We appreciate y'all keeping us busy . ❤️🕵🏻‍♂️
