This Miami Beach Condo had waves in their paver patio, the before pictures really don’t show how bad it actually was. Complete lift of all pavers, base repairs, and a new design with more curves was installed. These pavers are well over 20 years old, still in good condition overall, next up is some landscaping to bring it all together.

The first brickyards in the Chicago area started manufacturing brick in the late 1800’s, and the last closed in the mid 1980’s. These are old clay bricks that have a lot of character and charm, as well as a wide variety of color tones and shapes. They bear inscriptions or stamps that tell which plant they are from. Depending how close they were to the source of the heat in the firing kiln determines the colors they become. Clay bricks are synonymous with durability, they will not fade in color over time as they aren’t made with Portland cement like a concrete paver is, along with other aggregates. This driveway needed attention. Broken bricks, sunken areas and also an original installation that didn’t blend the color ranges well. After a complete lift, new base, and changing out over 1500 bricks, this driveway has come back to life.
