If that prized tree finally had to come down, I can make something special from it that will be remembered.

This is Wooden Glass #2. Overall it is ~15.5” square. The rose is inlaid in four squares of Ash that combined measure 12” x 12”. The rose is made from pieces of Cherry, Hackberry, Mahogany, Bloodwood, Yellowheart, Padauk, Bubinga ( I think ), a couple pieces that might be Wenge, and some other mystery reddish-brown wood I’ve had on the shelf for way too long. In between the “panes” is Walnut “lead”. And the frame is Walnut and Cherry. Finish is three coats of ARM-R-SEAL.

Made this as a gift for Rita Schubach for our 39th anniversary today. And it’s Reformation Sunday so two reasons to celebrate!

Background is Red Oak, frame is Cherry. Leaves are some hardwood I had on the shelf, don’t remember the name but the closest thing I could get to green. And the petals are Blood Wood.

This is a BIG, beefy cutting board: 22” x 16” x 1.5” made from Walnut, White Oak, Cherry, Maple, Elm, and Ash. It’s all and grain on the top/bottom and finished with a 100% food safe oil. Send me a PM if you’re interested in something like this or any other size.

This is my take on a sign I saw at a restaurant in Michigan last year. The four individual signs were all painted ( 2D ), and chained together as one unit. I'd intended to chain these together, too, but I haven't found a chain I like yet. So for the time being they'll stay separate. Each is 4.5" tall and 12" long. I used Maple, White Oak, Cherry, and Hackberry but can use anything and can change size, fonts, orientation, etc. Each also has a different background texture.

I made this just for fun, but I'd be happy to make one for you. PM me for prices. This was cut from a piece of Maple but I can use whatever you prefer. Size is roughly 8" x 12".

Initially, I didn't have anything to do with the baptismal font at our church. It was commissioned by a member of our congregation in memory of her husband, and built by some very talented craftsmen in Minnesota ( I think ). The font sits in the back of the sanctuary so you see the beautiful cross and all of its carvings as you enter. However, as you leave, all you see is a door. So I was asked to make a smaller cross for the door to dress up the back a little. The size of my cross is about 12" x 8" and is proportional to the cross on the front. I made it from a piece of Maple and was very happy with the way it turned out.
