Leaving a Legacy: Lets Help Complete the Grant-Valkaria Veterans Memorial

There is a sacred spot in our community dedicated to the brave—a place where we stop to remember the cost of our freedom. The
Grant-Valkaria Veterans Memorial Park is nearly complete, but there is a small gap remaining that only you can help fill.

They are looking for 17 final donors.

With only 17 bricks remaining, we are calling on our neighbors, friends, and local businesses to help finish this tribute. Every brick represents a story of courage, a family’s pride, and a "thank you" to those who put it all on the line for us.

How You Can Help: You can purchase a commemorative brick directly through the
Grant-Valkaria Community Association at

Save the Date: Once the final bricks are laid, the entire community is invited to stand together for the official
Ribbon Cutting Ceremony on July 11th at 10:00 AM.

We are looking for a reliable, safety-minded, and hardworking concrete driver to join our team. If you enjoy being active, working outdoors, and taking pride in being the backbone of local construction projects, we want to hear from you.

The Role:

As a Volumetric Concrete Mixer Driver, you aren’t just hauling a load; you are managing a perishable product and ensuring it arrives at the job site ready to pour. You’ll be responsible for:

• Safe Operation: Navigating a heavy-duty volumetric mixer truck to and from job sites in various traffic and weather conditions.

• Product Quality: Monitoring slump and adjusting loads as needed to meet customer specifications.

• Maintenance: Performing daily pre-and-post-trip inspections and keeping your truck clean (inside and out).

• Customer Service: Acting as the face of the company on-site, communicating professionally with contractors and finishers.
What You Bring to the Table

• Valid CDL (Class A or B): Clean driving record is a must.

• Hardworking Grit: You don’t mind getting your hands dirty and can handle the physical demands of the job (climbing ladders, dragging chutes, etc.).

• Reliability: Our customers depend on us to show up on time. We need someone who treats a 6:30 AM start time as a priority.

• Safety First: A "zero-accident" mindset and a commitment to DOT regulations.

The Blueprint of a Legacy:

Over forty years ago, Mr. Hearndon started with a dream, a concrete mixer, and a relentless work ethic. He entered the grueling world of concrete and construction. He didn't have a safety net; he had a vision.

His journey from a 19-year-old entrepreneur to a titan of the industry is an inspiration to us all. It takes a special kind of person to turn 'long hard days' into a lifelong success story. Success wasn’t an overnight phenomenon—it was poured one yard at a time.

Showing that perseverance is about building something that lasts, that the strongest structures are built on character, unwavering dedication, and hard work. Being the first one on-site and the last to leave, often long after the sun went down. Weathering economic downturns, supply chain shifts, the physical toll of the trade, and a refusal to cut corners. He built a reputation where his word was as solid as the foundations he poured.

He is the rare "Bossman" who commands respect not because of his title, but because he has done every position in the company.
His boots are still on the ground. Whether it’s behind the desk or in the dirt, he continues to bridge the gap between vision and execution—steering the company’s strategy, driving the fleet, or pouring the very foundation.

He spent a lifetime mastering structures, yet his proudest masterpieces are his daughter and his two sons. He is currently mentoring his two sons the structure of the business and instilling in them the "Founder’s Mentality":

Respect the Craft: Quality is the only marketing that lasts.
Respect the Crew: A leader is only as strong as the team standing behind him.
Endurance: Success is a marathon, not a sprint.

He didn't just build a business; he built a standard. Now, he’s ensuring his sons don't just take on a company, but the character required to keep it standing.
