Our 2026 season has gone by so fast, and what a wonderful season it has been.
It is hard to imagine that it is already time to start scheduling or even start winterizing your irrigation systems now.
Myself & Mistie will be in the office, on the phone working diligently to schedule all our customers, so that everyone can have a piece of mind knowing that they have secured an appointment.
If you are undecided as to whether you need to make this appointment, I have added information as to why it is so important to winterize your irrigation system.
Failing to winterize your irrigation system can cause serious damage to your system and it can become expensive to repair. You can avoid any of these headaches by simply taking time in the fall to schedule an appointment with Keeping It Growing Irrigation, to have your irrigation system winterized. By doing this, it can prevent major issues once Old Man Winter sets in. This simple maintenance step in the fall can protect your irrigation system and ensure that it is ready to operate properly again in the Spring!
If You are using a pump source to draw water out of a lake/pond, it is important to have this winterized no later than the FIRST TWO WEEKS IN OCTOBER.
Examples of Winterizing your irrigation system:

Some questions you may ask yourself regarding whether to winter your irrigation system:
Question: Do I really need to winterize my irrigation system?
Answer: Yes! Whenever the frost level reaches below the depth of irrigation systems, winterizing can help prevent damage from freezing. It can also ward off costly repairs in the spring. Luckily, you can avoid frozen and burst irrigation pipes.
Question: When should I turn off my irrigation system for winter?

Answer: Before temperatures generally dip below freezing at night. The biggest problem that can strike an irrigation system in the winter is leftover water in the pipes and valves from the summer, then freezing.
Question: At what temp will irrigation pipes freeze?
32 degrees
Answer: At the freezing point of 32 degrees, Fahrenheit water left in your sprinkler system can expand and burst your pipes.

Question: What happens if you do not winterize your irrigation system?
If an irrigation system is not properly winterized, water will be left in the pipes all winter. When temperatures get below freezing, the water will freeze and expand in the pipes, which could cause cracks in the pipe or on the fittings.

As you know yesterday's storm came in with a vengeance, and has left alot of destruction. It has impacted so many, including our business.

Core Responsibilities

System Maintenance:

Perform spring start-ups, mid-season diagnostics, and fall winterization.

Repairs & Troubleshooting:

Digging, locating buried valves, adjusting sprinkler heads, and replacing faulty lines.

Customer Service:

Explain problems clearly, recommend solutions, and advise clients on best watering practices.

Equipment Use:

Safely operate trenchers, pipe cutters, and diagnostic multimeters.

Requirements:

Experience:

1–3 years of hands-on irrigation service and nstallation.

Licensing:

Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

Backflow certification is a major plus.

Physicality:

Ability to lift heavy objects and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

This is just a little appreciation post to thank all of our customers.

This season has been slightly different from past couple of seasons, as Mother Nature has been in a mood to say the least, but I just want to thank you all for your continued support with using our small business for your irrigation needs.
