Entryways Unlimited, Inc. is currently seeking Woodshop Assistant for our custom door shop. This position will start Part-Time 24-28 hours per week during the 90 day probationary period, with full-time opportunity.
This is an entry level position. Must be a motivated and team-oriented individual with “handyman” skills who is also able to work independently. As our Woodshop Assistant you will be working directly with our Shop Manager to create our unique wood products. You must be a self-starter, good at working with your hands and willing to learn Entryways methods while being able to handle physically-demanding work, including keeping shop clean. $10-15 per hour depending on experience and ability.
Requirements:
Positive attitude and ability to work well with others
Understanding of necessary mathematics, and read a tape measure
Provide general assistance around the shop, including cleaning and general maintenance
Stock raw materials in appropriate quantities
Operate equipment such as table saw, planer, joiner, band saw, cut off saw, belt sander, drill press, etc
Utilize precision measuring instruments
Knowledge of materials and processes
Previous experience in manufacturing shop work, including woodshop preferred
Attention to detail
Familiarity with hand tools
Listen effectively, respond clearly and directly, prepare clear and concise written reports or records and explain information to others
Good driving record and ability to acquire chauffeur's license
Physical Demands:
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
Must be able to frequently stand, walk, communication clearly, bend, squat and reach above shoulder level
Must be able to regularly lift/carry up to 50lbs; occasionally lift/carry up to 100lbs.
Must be able to do repetitive simple grasping, fine manipulation and pushing & pulling on a frequent basis
Exposure to basic workshop chemicals such as solvents
Frequent communications, verbal and written
