Brenda Smith grew up on the family dairy farm in Bradford RI. Herself & her husband purchased a 200 acre farm in northern NY in 1983 when she was 20. They had 3 daughters. She lost her husband David in 1997 to a farming accident. She continued to run the dairy to support my then 11,8 and almost 2 year old children. After the children left for college and lives I made the decision to move my cows back to the family farm in May 2019 Parents were thrilled to have cows on the place again as they had sold their dairy 4 years earlier.
After 43 years and putting milking machines on cows 1,760,775 times I’ve decided it’s time for a break from milking.
For those of you who don’t know Brenda on a personal level she’s a very hard-working, determined woman come and support her at the Middlesex Livestock Auction this Monday, October 26, 2026 @ 7 pm sharp!
They’ll be 36 cows in all !
