Pool renovation...1200 sf natural stone pool deck installed by others failed dramatically and I didn't have the heart to put it back together again...So...demo'd it all back to the rat slab, set new coping, 3 piece XL paver set, band of charcoal cobblestone and a 6x6 edge. Not a straight cut on the whole patio. Labor of love. :-)

A friends porch roof collapsed. It was a shed roof design which is just a single plane roof that leans against the house. Luckily nobody was under it at the time. After demolition...it was determined to actually be built quite well EXCEPT they failed to put ledger locks or lags into the framing to support the ridge and only had a few nails. I really wonder if it was an oversight and some helper forgot. Anyway... rebuilt the porch with a hip roof design which is inherently stronger, did a standing seam metal roof instead of asphalt and added a little more flair with paneled columns, corbels and v-grooved ceiling. Just waiting for the matching gutters but otherwise complete.
