The recipes may be passed down, but your kitchen can be all your own. 🦃🏠

November brings out the recipe cards, the extra baking dishes, and the conversations about who’s bringing what to Thanksgiving dinner. It’s also the time of year when everyone somehow ends up in the kitchen... even when you tell them to stay out of the way. 😂

Creating a mother-in-law suite takes an understanding of how to make a space work for everyday living. Cogburn Contracting brings experience in building these suites and reconfiguring spaces around a family’s needs. 🏠🔨

In this completed project, we transformed a two-car garage into a mother-in-law suite with a new bathroom, a mini-split system for heating and cooling, and custom built-ins for multiple uses, including space for a gun safe.

As part of the same project, a bedroom became a fully customized closet, adding storage designed around the homeowners’ belongings and routines.

Our expertise goes beyond the finishes. It’s knowing how to reconsider a layout, give existing rooms a new purpose, and bring the details together so the finished spaces function well for the people using them.

A look back at a whole-home transformation we completed. 🏠🔨

Along with a full kitchen gut and remodel, several rooms took on a new purpose. The original dining room became an office, the smaller family room became the new dining room, and the breakfast nook became a comfortable spot to lounge.

The project also included:

🔥 A new fireplace with custom tile
🪟 Automatic window shades
🛁 A remodeled primary bathroom
🚿 Updated guest bathrooms and half bath
🪞 A custom-built half-bath vanity

There was a lot that went into this one, and we’re proud of how it came together. Thank you to the homeowners for trusting our crew with their home!

We enclosed the existing patio with windows and doors, turning it into an extension of the home the family could enjoy year-round.

The fireplace received new stone and a custom wood mantel. Built-in cabinetry, floating shelves, and new lighting brought the room together.
