Not every fabricator is qualified to work in sanitary environments, and the difference matters.

Sanitary welding is a specialized capability held to some of the most rigorous fabrication and hygiene standards in the industry. It goes well beyond standard pipe welding, requiring precise process controls, proper material selection, and inspection methods that verify cleanliness and integrity on both the interior and exterior of every weld.

Security clearance requirements, compliance protocols, and why not every contractor qualifies.

Not every contractor can walk onto a federal airspace facility and start work.
There are background checks, security clearances, FAA coordination requirements, specific documentation standards that don't exist in commercial construction and restrictions on when and where you can operate, sometimes down to the hour.

Mideast Fabrication is nearing completion at the Mandaree Water Treatment Plant in Mandaree, North Dakota.

Our scope encompassed a full mechanical installation beginning with an entirely empty facility. We set three stainless steel sedimentation basins and a buffer tank averaging 30,000 lbs each before moving into the installation of the CIP and backflush skids, their associated tanks, and the membrane skid. Process piping in ductile iron and CPVC ranging from 3" to 14" was routed and connected throughout, followed by the setting and alignment of three membrane filter assemblies totaling 15 sections. Three high-service pumps were installed with complete instrumentation packages, and the chemical injection rooms were fully built out with tank scale systems, chemical pump skids, and all associated process and injection piping.

Projects like this one serve critical infrastructure for the communities that depend on them, and we are proud to be part of delivering that work at a high standard.

💡PROJECT SPOTLIGHT💡:

We recently completed a total pump replacement at the water treatment facility in Mandaree, ND. Prior to shutdown, the plant topped off the water towers to keep supply uninterrupted while we worked.

We custom-fabricated 4" and 8" spools to raise the discharge manifold 2¾", pulled three existing pumps by crane through the roof, modified concrete bases on two of the three pump pads, and set the new pumps with mechanical seals and motors. Wheeler Electric handled power connections and we brought the plant back online one pump at a time.

Clean ex*****on from start to finish, ensuring the town never lost clean water.

At the Mandaree Water Treatment Plants in Mandaree, North Dakota, Mideast Fabrication is applying its experience and craftsmanship to a significant industrial piping project.

This post highlights the dedicated job site crew, which brings over 40 years of combined hands-on experience to the field.
Since February, our crew has been working tirelessly on building a new water treatment plant and rebuilding the existing facility to ensure the town of Mandaree has access to fresh, clean water 24/7.
From layout and coordination to safe, precise installation, their knowledge and attention to detail are evident in every step of the process.

Installation projects require careful planning, craftsmanship, and trust in the workforce, and we take pride in having a team that embodies all three.
