This one was a fun one and man was it in rough shape ๐ฌ but the view....well it doesnt get much better. The pier... well it was one storm away from complete collapse.... as you can tell from the photos. The walls they were in rough shape. The last guy that built these should never of picked up a welder... it was bad to say the least. We started by demoing the old pier. The owner wanted to save the canopy for the new pier so we gently put it on the beach. Then we started digging and let me tell ya I've never pulled so much random steel off a job / lake.... it was everywhere. The previous guy that built the pier / walls backfilled with any steel / junk he could. We ended up digging 26,700lbs of steel out of the lake and behind the blown out walls. Next we built new crib panels in the shop took them to jobsite and built cribs. Once the pier was finished up the owner wanted us to fix the North wall. The crib panels were wagging back amd fourth with every wave. So we dug them out and straightened them the best we could. We installed a Whaler, new dead men and tie backs to hold it straight. The owner also decided to fix the concrete patio that was washed out underneath along the East wall. So we hammered the old patio into the cavity , filled in more and poured a new patio. Alittle rock work around both sides of the boat ramp. We regraded the yard to have positive drainage to the lake. Surprisingly we didnt haul a single ton of rock in for this job. Material management / screening was the name of the game on this job. We actually exported 300 ton of fractured rock / cobble we used for an access road. Thanks to our freinds at Fox stone for hauling and concrete great guys. To top it off the customer was great a guy and turned into a freind. Meet some awesome guys from New regal that were the Mason's working on the house ( The Nye's ) Also thanks to Andy Blumensaadt for letting me borrow his saw when mine decided to leave the chat on a Saturday. Great people....Great job on a Great island. Cant ask for anymore ๐ฏ # # # #
