It's that time of year again. We are happy to partner with Milan Dairy Barn to help promote positive choices in the community for kids. Once again the Milan Police Department will be handing out tickets for good deeds for kids in our community. Enjoy a free ice cream on us. Your Milan Area Firefighters would like to extend a sincere thank you to several local businesses for their generous support of our firefighters.

Thanks to the donations from Milan Ace Hardware, Blissfield Heating and Cooling, Ringbloom Electrical Contracting LLC, and Straub Heating and Cooling, our department recently received a Blackstone griddle and Weber grill that will be used for many years to come.

These grills will be used by our firefighters while on duty, as well as during community events and public gatherings. One of the first opportunities to put them to good use will be our upcoming 102.9 W4 Country Firehouse Friday on May 15th, where firefighters will be cooking breakfast for the community.

Beyond events, sharing meals together at the station with our firefighters and families is an important part of building the strong teamwork and camaraderie that helps us serve our community every day.

We are incredibly grateful for the continued support from our local businesses!

Just an FYI with these cold temps we are getting alot of calls about breakers tripping due to space heaters. If you want to run electric heat make sure they are on separate circuits. Most space heaters pull 12 to 15 amps of power. Most circuits in your home are 15 amp breakers. So plugging 2 on the same circuit will trip your breaker. If you're unsure rooms are on the same circuit shut the breaker off to the room you want the heater in. And find out what other rooms have power then plug your second heater into that room. Now they will be safe to run and not overload your breaker. Feel free to ask any questions on this post I'll answer for you and others to see.

As we begin our collection of food for Thanksgiving meals, Ringbloom Electrical Contracting LLC has once again stepped up to match our efforts to ensure Milan families have enough this holiday season. They will match $1 per item up to $1000! The group or person who donates the most pounds by November 18th will win $100. Let us know who the donation is on behalf of and how to contact you.

Cream of Mushroom Soup

Turkey, Ham, and other meats can also be dropped off during pantry hours.
