And our Core Values aren't just some nice words on the wall, or something we talk about once or twice a year.

Our Core Values are discussed daily. Our team strives to live them out each and every day.

And today, our Cincinnati Sales Leader Jeff Ehrhard and our Northeast Ohio Sales Leader Frederick Heberling are in Myrtle Beach attending the Top Rep Bootcamp.

This training is a multi day event where they will learn how to better communicate with our customers, how to offer creative ways of meeting our customers needs, how to better train our teams to serve our customer base, and so much more.

But that apparently isn't enough. These two are blessed to spend some real time with industry leader Dan Walrack as well.

🥶 IMPORTANT Update on ICE DAMS 🥶
This week, the ice dams will likely will get worse before they get better. With it warming up more than it has during the day, means things are going to begin to melt; and with the extreme temperatures at night, they are going to freeze again. The freeze thaw cycle is going to ramp up. Meaning, if your home is going to leak, it probably will this week unfortunately.

We are getting so many calls. We are thankful to be a contractor that people trust.

Many of you might never have this problem again. This weather is ABSOLUTELY exacerbating and really magnifying each home’s weakness because it’s such extreme temps fo our area for a prolonged period of time.

What can be done?

A thorough evaluation now and/or an autopsy after this passes is a great idea to have done by a trusted contractor. Again don’t overreact and overspend for something that might not happen again, but it would be a good time for a check up on your home’s ventilation, insulation and roof system.

🥶 Regarding ICE DAMS 🥶

*Just so you know, this is proper and honest information, not AI. We’ve been having this conversation dozens of times a day and we wanted to put it out there for our Facebook friends. Please feel free to repost and pass on. The more educated we all are…the better.

Ice Dams in Southwestern Ohio: A Quick Reality Check

We’ve been getting a lot of calls about ice dams and active leaks, and we completely understand how stressful this is.

Even though we’re seeing some minor daytime thawing, temperatures are staying cold enough that any melt refreezes almost immediately. That makes it extremely difficult to safely or effectively stop ice-dam-related leaks right now, and most short-term fixes simply won’t hold.

Ice dams are usually not caused by bad shingles or a bad roof. They’re typically a symptom of heat loss, insulation issues, and unbalanced or insufficient attic ventilation. In extreme conditions like this, even minor deficiencies can become major problems.

This winter is not normal for our area. Prolonged cold combined with heavy snowfall has created one of the worst ice dam stretches we’ve seen in the last 10 to 20 years. Many homes may go another decade or more without experiencing conditions like this again.

Because of that, be cautious of anyone pushing expensive, immediate solutions. Overcorrecting for a rare weather event isn’t always worth it. Some homes do need attention, but that’s something we’re happy to evaluate honestly once conditions allow.

Right now, attempted repairs can cause more damage or create safety risks. Even specialized ice removal equipment like steam systems are limited when temperatures stay this cold.

What does help right now is documenting the situation with photos and notes. Once we get a true thaw, we can take a closer look and talk through longer-term solutions focused on ventilation, insulation, and heat management, if they’re even necessary.

Sometimes, with a storm like this, there’s just not much you can do in the moment. It is what it is, and that’s hard.
