Water is one of the biggest causes of pavement failure in New England. Every winter, freeze/thaw cycles allow trapped water to expand beneath asphalt, leading to cracking, edge failure, and ongoing deterioration.

Today our crew at Worcester is actively installing a new 4’ deep perimeter drainage system designed to intercept and redirect groundwater before it can damage the pavement structure.

This project is also one of the first few jobs utilizing our new Hitachi ZX135 equipped with Trimble 3D grade control technology, allowing for highly accurate trench elevations, consistent drainage pitch, and increased installation efficiency.

By controlling the water first, we help extend the life of the asphalt, reduce future maintenance costs, and create a more stable base year-round.

Drainage is the foundation of a long-lasting pavement system.

This past week, 102 Property Maintenance took delivery of our new Hitachi ZX135 Excavator equipped with an Engcon tilt rotator and we immediately put it to work.

From removing an underground oil tank to beginning our trail construction project in Northampton, this machine is already proving to be a game changer for our operation.

Next week, the excavator will be equipped with full 3D GPS technology, allowing our team to bring even greater precision, efficiency, and accuracy to every project we take on.

The future is looking bright… bright orange 💪🏼

Returned to the Town of Ashland last week to complete a small but important project tied to the downtown streetscape improvements. We installed a new catch basin and drainage pipe to eliminate a large puddle and improve drainage.

We’re excited to share that next week 102 Property Maintenance, Inc. will begin a meaningful project for the Town of Northampton and its residents at the Fitzgerald Lake Conservation Area.

Our team has been awarded the contract to reconstruct an existing hiking path and upgrade it to meet ADA accessibility requirements, helping make this beautiful conservation area more accessible for everyone to enjoy.

Projects like this are about more than construction, they’re about improving communities, preserving outdoor spaces, and creating access for all. We’re proud to be part of it and look forward to sharing progress along the way.

We got the chance to restore a little bit of history today.

102 Property Maintenance, Inc. installed three granite posts that were found right on the property as part of the restoration of the historic Grass Hill School in Millbury. Bringing original materials back into place is a great way to preserve the character and story of this special building for future generations.

26 straight hours of plowing at the start of the week, immediately followed by emergency snow removal operations for a Southeast Massachusetts town.
6 loaders and brine trucks dispatched.
24-hour operations per machine with rotating crews to keep everything moving.

Couldn’t have done it without our dedicated team.

Now it’s back to Central Massachusetts to reset, refuel, and prepare for whatever Mother Nature throws at us next.
