Back-to-school season feels a lot like nesting over here. More time at home means making sure our base has all the mise en place — & that it’s aesthetically enjoyable for those moments of stillness during the school day. 🤍 Harvested my bounty of limelight hydrangeas & brought in a little visitor (who got quickly ushered out)! Hope all of the kiddos are having a great first week back to school — & that the mamas are enjoying some time to do whatever it is that you need… rest, work, creating, reading, cleaning, organizing… I’m doing a little bit of everything, grateful for the fresh start of a new season ✨

I don’t know if “Tomato Girl Summer” is still a thing, but I’m over here having one … forever 🥰 My cousin & I used to rub tomato vines between our fingers & dream of tomato-inspired perfumes decades ago. That trend brought so many products I’m still loving like this Better Homes & Gardens servingware collection at Walmart , this cute crock from the ALDI USA “Aisle of Shame” & Mrs. Meyer's Clean Day Tomato Vine soap… I even have a red t-shirt that says “tomato & mayo” from The Bitter Southerner ! 🍅 But tomato sandwiches will always signify summer & be one of my favorite things 😋 Farm stand ‘maters between thick slices of toasted white bread slathered in mayo with some Maldon salt & cracked pepper 🤌 Next level: homemade pimento cheese, fried egg, bacon, leaf lettuce & avocado 🍳 🥓 🥑 I mean, come on… it’s the ultimate summer meal, anytime of day.

When Maid of Honor Courtney reached out to me to plan her friend Annie’s shower, she had her favorite color blue in mind, selected a simple brunch menu for a small group of their closest friends & the bride’s family, & let us take care of the rest, so they could focus on the fun. 🥂 Allowing our full-service venue to host — from setup, flowers & decor, to catering, service throughout & cleanup, allows party planners time for the little details like Courtney’s custom-painted ch*****ne flute keepsakes 🥰 Our color coordinated sweets bar, along with cupcakes from Byers Butterflake — plus a bouquet bar we created with one of our flower farm partners Debra Martin Berkoski, was the perfect ending. 💙

A sweet sneak peek at yesterday’s intimate garden party wedding. 🤍Brooke & Dario gathered with their immediate families for a simple, special morning ceremony followed by a beautiful brunch. All of the details & people that mattered most to them, none of the extra fuss or stress. Our team provided everything from florals & a dream bouquet, to a bountiful brunch, a cake as scrumptious as it was gorgeous, with service & flawless ex*****on throughout. Just enjoying the gardens on a week “off” from events, savoring the slow morning… even though they need tending & weeding, which I will get to, eventually… for now, stillness is sanctuary.

Literally taking time to stop & smell the roses 🤍 My David Austin teacup roses were tucked down in the bush unnoticed & unappreciated until I took the time to go walk around my gardens & plucked them out for a small arrangement that brings even bigger joy. Salvaged drooping peonies from the weight of the rain & their huge blooms & snipped a little filler. All in the span of 25 minutes or so that I had between tasks. I decided to create something for myself. I’m always creating arrangements & making food for clients, so it’s a treat when I have a down week to create beauty or recipes for myself & my family. Inspired by my creative friends this week, artist encouraged me to carve out a little time with her rituals, and Melanie at with her gorgeous weekly kitchen bouquets & roadside stand off of 999 & Central Manor Rd 💐 I always keep a little something by my sink to brighten up dish duty too 🥰 Grateful for my gardens & to see other creative women entrepreneurs thriving as well. All of my roses, & unique MacMahon peonies, among many other plants, are from — a local business worth checking out, with online ordering & delivery right to your door, or their roadside location at the corner of Harrisburg Pike & Dillerville Rd.

This Saturday’s baby shower was too doggone cute! 🐶💙🐶 The fur babies are getting a baby brother & these two sweet families & friends could not be happier! ☔️It may have been soggy outside, but guests were cozy inside with the perfect shower menu for the rainy day— including homemade tomato basil bisque & gourmet grilled cheese selections 🥰
