Superhero of the Week: Matthias Ericksen ⚾🏆
This week’s Superhero of the Week is Matthias Ericksen!
Matthias recently graduated from Chesterton Academy, where he served as the school’s Prefect—a leadership role selected by the headmaster to help guide fellow students in faith, academics, and daily life.
A true competitor, Matthias has participated in more than seven sports throughout his life and was a four-sport athlete in high school, serving as captain of three teams. His accomplishments include being named MVP in both baseball and basketball, earning 3rd place in conference track competition, and becoming a four-time Wisconsin State Champion in table tennis (2 singles titles and 2 doubles titles). He also placed 6th nationally at a tournament in Texas.
During the summer, Matthias competed with one of Wisconsin’s top baseball programs, traveling throughout the Midwest and winning multiple tournaments. Beyond athletics, he helps lead an all-boys summer camp, mentoring young men through faith, leadership, and sports.
This fall, Matthias will attend Ave Maria University, where he will continue his baseball career while pursuing a degree in Psychology with a minor in Marriage and Family Studies. His goal is to become a psychotherapist, helping couples and families build stronger relationships, unity, and lasting joy.
