Cupola Repo

This is your friendly reminder to pay your bills… because if you don’t, eventually they call us. 😅

In today’s episode of “Anything Can Be Moved,” we’re removing a full-sized cupola straight off the roof. That’s right — just because it’s 20 feet in the air doesn’t mean it’s safe from repossession. If it can be built, bolted, welded, nailed, or forgotten about… chances are we can figure out how to get it back down.

We hope you found this video helpful. Thank you for watching… and pay your bills. 😎

Movex Track-O vs. Zonzini Domino Crane

There’s an old saying in the moving industry that goes something like this:

“Don’t lift what you can roll. Don’t roll what you can slide. Don’t move what you don’t have to.”

And around here, we’ve added one more line:

“…and when all else fails, go grab a crane!”

Tomorrow’s project is a perfect example. We’re preparing to remove a massive deck, but instead of cutting it into a million tiny pieces and hauling it out by hand, we’re taking a different approach. The plan is to crane the structure out in seven large sections using the Movex Track-O Mini Crawler Crane!

This is where proper planning, specialty equipment, and mechanical advantage completely change the game. Faster cleanup, less material handling, reduced labor, and a much cleaner operation overall. Work smarter, not harder.

Stay tuned for the full video later this week as we put this setup to the test in the real world.

Zonzini Domino vs. Subaru… because sometimes the best way to test a machine is to push it beyond what you’d normally dare to do.

We needed to track down a slow tire leak on our Subaru, and instead of grabbing a traditional floor jack, we decided to put the Zonzini Domino to the test. The result? The Subaru lifted smoothly off the ground with surprisingly minimal deflection in the Domino platform and absolutely no noticeable loss of power from the actuator during the lift.

Now, are we recommending you throw your floor jack in the trash and start lifting cars with your stair climber? Absolutely not. But if you’ve ever questioned the engineering, power, or build quality behind Zonzini equipment, this little “proof of concept” test speaks for itself.

Sometimes you don’t truly know a machine’s limits until you bump into them. In this case, the Domino handled the challenge like a champ.

Installing casters on a cabinet might seem simple at first glance, but doing it properly can make the difference between a smooth rolling, long-lasting setup and a frustrating failure down the road. In this video, we walk through how we install casters the right way using threaded inserts, properly sized bolts, and a clean hidden fastening system.

Our process starts by drilling the cabinet base and installing threaded inserts directly into the wood. Once the inserts are set, we bolt the casters into place using 3/8” hardware cut to the correct length. There are plenty of ways to mount casters, but this method gives us several major advantages.

First, threaded inserts dramatically increase holding strength. The larger outer diameter bites into the cabinet material far better than relying on standard wood screws alone, helping minimize the chances of fasteners stripping out over time. Second, if a caster ever needs replacement or maintenance, you’re working with steel threads instead of repeatedly driving screws into wood. That means cleaner serviceability and longer-lasting durability.

An added bonus? Everything is sized and installed so the hardware remains hidden from inside the cabinet, leaving the finished product looking clean and professional.

Simple upgrade. Professional results. Long-term reliability.

Demo Boys Tools Of The Trade!

Today’s project called for precision from the very first hole. We’re drilling a series of 5/8” anchor holes into foundation support beams, and this is exactly where specialty tooling earns its keep. For this job, we’re using Hilti hollow-core drill bits to maximize speed and cleanliness on the jobsite.

Traditional drilling creates dust, slows production, and leaves cleanup behind. Hollow-core technology changes the game by extracting dust directly through the bit while drilling, resulting in cleaner holes, better anchor performance, and a much more efficient workflow.

When you’re installing mounting plates and structural hardware, precision matters. Clean holes mean better seating, improved anchor performance, and less wasted time fighting debris. It’s one of those specialty tools that may seem expensive at first glance, but once you use it in the field, it quickly becomes difficult to go back.

The right tool for the job is almost always worth the investment. Faster production, cleaner work, and professional-level results speak for themselves.

500 Pound Plotter vs Zonzini Domino

Welcome to another precision move.

If you’re new to our channel, allow us to introduce ourselves. We are Demo Boys, precision logistics and demolition specialists. We move the items that exceed normal descriptions — large, heavy, valuable, awkward, tight access, or simply difficult to handle. Our goal is always the same: make the impossible move controlled and smooth.

In this video, we’re transporting a 500 pound plotter for an architectural firm in the Chicago area. The staircase was narrow, the landings were tight, and the final turn into the office required some serious precision. Watch as we use the Zonzini Domino and perform what we like to call the “balerina maneuver” to make the final pivot safely without damaging the machine or the building.

I hope you found this video helpful for your next project. Thank you for watching, and as always, Happy Building!

Demo Boys Trick: EMERGENCY USE ONLY!

We’re on a job site today tearing out a kitchen, but we ran into a problem—the valve to the refrigerator line isn’t functioning. The plumber is scheduled for tomorrow, so the objective here is simple: buy ourselves roughly 12 hours without shutting down the main water supply.

THIS IS NOT A RECOMMENDED METHOD! This is an emergency only workaround. Proceed entirely at your own risk!

* Use two hammers to pinch the line flat
* Fold the pipe over onto itself
* Hammer it again to reinforce the crimp
* The goal is to create a restriction similar to a hard kink in a hose

Results:

* Water flow will be terminated
* A minimal amount of water may, can, and probably will escape so be prepared.

Important notes:

* This is a temporary measure only
* This method can damage the pipe and should not be relied on long term
* Use only when you have no better option and understand the risk

Use this technique strictly as a last resort—but when you’re in a bind, it can buy you the time you need.

Hope you found this video helpful but never actually need to use the technique! Thank you for watching, and as always, Happy Building!
