Most cuts are pretty routine like this spruce on legs, but the other day I cut a few that were in a hot spot, burning all the way up and crumbling as I was cutting. So smoky I could hardly breathe and so hot I couldn’t stand in the cut for very long, my feet were beginning to blister. I was too focused in to get any footage of those.

Nastiest tree I’ve faced so far this year. If it had some backbone I’d have considered rolling it off the standing tree, but as was I had to cut the standing tree. Even so, it tried to barber chair early in the back cut. I hung in there cutting fast and got it all down without incident.

Second day, third fire of the season. This one was canoed out on the opposite side and smoking. My partner got a vid but when he sent, it was grainy. It’s probably time for me to upgrade my phone.
