The Mineral Point Common Council met on Tuesday, June 9. Highlights from the meeting include:
๐น Residents addressed the Council regarding potential City support for Mineral Point's 2027 Bicentennial celebration.
๐น The Council approved Pay Application #2 for the South and Commerce Street Reconstruction Project and Pay Application #1 for the Brewery Creek Subdivision 1st Addition project.
๐น The Chamber of Commerce's permit for the 4th of July celebration was approved, including the parade route, fireworks viewing area, and use of Water Tower Park.
๐น The Council acknowledged the City's 2025 Audit.
๐น Annual alcohol beverage licenses, sidewalk cafรฉ/parklet permits, extension of premise licenses, and outdoor drinking permits were approved for the 2026-2027 licensing year.
๐น The Council approved a grant agreement with the Wisconsin Historical Society and awarded a contract to Legacy Architecture to complete Phase 2 of the City's Historic Architectural Survey. The City received a $34,500 grant to support this work.
๐น A proposal was approved for tuckpointing and flashing repairs at the Mineral Point Public Library.
๐น An encroachment agreement was approved for a property along Jail Alley.
๐น The Council approved an amendment to the Water Tower License Agreement with MH Telecom, allowing upgrades to electrical service that will support expanded wireless internet service.
๐น Resolution 2026-04 was approved, authorizing submission of the City's 2025 Compliance Maintenance Annual Report (CMAR). The report reflects significant improvements in the City's wastewater treatment operations.
๐น Resolution 2026-05 was approved, beginning the process for special assessments related to curb and gutter installation along portions of Commerce Street as part of the reconstruction project.
