In the Harriet Tudor home, we restored the existing brick on the exterior and continued the material inside.

The result is an ode to the original craftsmanship, while investing in the future of the home. This reflects our vision of listening to what a home needs and caring for it well throughout the entire design.

We recently conducted an exterior color study at our Raymond Ave Residence, a critical phase of the process that doesn’t always get talked about.

There are many considerations when selecting an exterior color – roofing, landscaping, trim, and the interior palette.

Materials play a vital role in each home, and the Family Camp Cabin is no exception.

Pine paneling throughout the space gives a nod to the original cabin on the property, while creating a durable, rustic feel to the space. In some spaces, we chose to paint it, while keeping it natural in others, giving each room a unique personality while still maintaining a unified aesthetic throughout the cabin.

To begin the conversation about a cabin for your family, connect with us on our website.

The Fairway Residence kitchen prioritizes natural light through large windows on two sides of the space, offering views of the exterior landscape.

An adjacent pantry allows the main kitchen space to feel open, while providing additional storage nearby.

The result is a bright space, anchored with dark cabinetry and fixtures, equipped to handle gatherings of all sizes.

This summer, we’ve had the privilege of having Jacob intern with our team.

He recently graduated from the University of Minnesota with a Bachelor of Science in Architecture, and he’ll return this fall to pursue a Masters in Architecture.

When asked about his internship, Jacob shared he has most enjoyed learning from the team and working on Two Points Porch - a project for a returning client.

Help us wish Jacob the best of luck as he pursues his Masters in Architecture!

Wood details help tell the story of our Minnehaha Residence.

When designing, we work to honor the original home by listening to what it wants. Our goal is to work with, not against, the bones of the home to bring out the natural beauty.

This month, we’re taking time to celebrate 10 years of Will Spencer Studio by sharing a photo from each year.

What began as a team of one in my attic has grown to a lively and talented studio of four. We are incredibly grateful for our trusted clients who have welcomed us into their homes and lives, and the craftspeople and collaborators who help bring it all to life.

We are already looking forward to the designs and stories we will tell in the next 10 years! Thank you to all who have been on this journey with us.

We’re thrilled to introduce and celebrate our Architectural Design Associate Marshall’s birthday today.

After graduating with a Master of Architecture from the University of Minnesota in 2023, he joined Will Spencer Studio.

Marshall has quickly become our CAD Guru and has a knack for thinking creatively about all aspects of project delivery. He has a passion for spaces that enable life, is an avid reader and constantly leaves our team in stitches with his wonderful sense of humor. We are grateful to have him on our team!

Help us wish him a happy birthday!
