So your home has suffered some storm damage... what's next?!

You'll obviously need to hire a contractor to complete the repairs, but with so many to choose from, it can be overwhelming just trying to decide who to work with!

According to the National Storm Damage Center, there are a few core requirements you should look for in any contractor you consider hiring:

It is that time of year where storms roll through regularly. Whether you are getting snow, sleet and ice or a booming thunderstorm, it's never fun to experience damage to your home, courtesy of Mother Nature!

If you've recently experienced a storm in your area, we've got a few DOs and DON'Ts to share!

While it may seem like your next logical step is to hop up on your roof and inspect it yourself, this can not only be dangerous, but also unnecessary. If you aren't sure what you are looking for, you may not spot the signs of damage in the same way a trained crew would!

Heading up to your roof to inspect it on your own... a DON'T in our book!

After you've experienced a storm, we recommend scheduling an inspection with a local storm restoration company. We can come out and assess the damage in a safe way! Getting it checked out ASAP is a DO.

DON'T wait to take action, because even if the damage is not immediately evident to you, you'll want to ensure it's repaired in a timely manner, both for your peace of mind and insurance purposes.
