LSE Architects is proud to continue working alongside Ho-Chunk, Inc. as expands to South Sioux City, NE. Following successful collaborations on WarHorse Lincoln and WarHorse Omaha, LSE provided architectural and interior design services for this new destination, representing continued investment in tribal enterprise, economic development, and community growth.

Phase I includes a 50,000-square-foot casino and sports bar, with future phases planned to add a 100-room hotel, a 13,000-square-foot event center, and an outdoor live entertainment venue. We look forward to watching this exciting project take shape as construction begins this fall, with opening anticipated in 2027

Last week, LSE Architects joined Terra Construction, Elk River City Government, and Elk River Municipal Liquor staff at the Northbound Liquor Groundbreaking Ceremony. Designed by LSE to enhance the customer experience while improving operational efficiency, the new building consists of a retail suite with storage facilities, an entry canopy, restrooms, and a shared office suite. The new building will replace the existing Northbound Liquor store and will support safe and accountable alcohol sales while providing an important source of funding for local services. In the past five years, the city’s liquor stores have contributed $5,700,000 to the General Fund and Park Improvement Fund, helping offset costs that might otherwise fall to property taxpayers.

Through $1.7 million in Transit-Oriented Communities (TOC) funding, five projects will move forward that support local businesses, create more equitable access to opportunities, and promote climate-resilient development. By helping close funding gaps, these investments allow community-driven projects to become reality.

WAY TO GO, CLAIRE! Winning for her Northside Library+ project has her feeling honored to be a part of the bright design horizon here in North Minneapolis. The project is best summed up by Claire herself: "The Northside Library+ design explores how sensory, cognitive, and social variation can become the foundation for organizing public space. Rather than treating accessibility as an accommodation. I believe it should be embedded into the design process from the beginning." - Claire Thompson
