π‘DID YOU KNOW?π‘
Your heat trace has one weakness. It runs on electricity.
Heat trace (some folks call it heat tape) keeps water lines from freezing, right up until the power goes out. Then it's just a cable wrapped around a pipe, and a North Dakota cold snap doesn't wait for you to fix things. A frozen line to the barn or stock tank is a rough way to find the gap in your backup plan.
Whole-farm standby power, sized right, can carry the heat trace along with the bin fans and the barn. We handle the bin hookups, motor controls, and outbuilding power too, so it all works as one plan.
This week, walk your place and list everything that can't go cold or quiet. That list is step one.
