Perspective was established in 1990 with a commitment to providing high quality design services for dynamic, fiscally responsible clients throughout the United States who value our design and leadership services. Growing naturally by “proving our wares” with our clients on small projects, the firm has blossomed into a comprehensive design firm with a national footprint in the fields commercial off

ice design, corporate interiors, retail design, multi-family housing, mixed-use design, master planning, project management, environmental graphics and green building design. Further, we have become designers who “talk it and walk it,” evidenced by our purchase and restoration of two historic buildings in downtown Kansas City, as well as by providing owner-agent roles for our clients on large scale projects in California, Kansas, Michigan and Oklahoma.

The "NBKC Behind the Build" event on July 29 showcased six months of intensive design work by our Perspective team in collaboration with NBKC leadership and our project partners: Colliers Kansas City, Lankford Fendler & Associates, Bob D. Campbell Structural Engineers, Phelps Engineering, and A.L. Huber Construction. We look forward to seeing the finished headquarters when NBKC completes its move in Q3 2027.

INTERIOR DESIGN's 30/30 events celebrate exceptional designers in their 30s who have been nominated by industry leaders in recognition of their vision, talent, and impact. Held in major cities across the country, these dynamic gatherings celebrate creativity, foster community, and spark meaningful conversations about the future of the design industry. This year's recognition is especially meaningful, as it marks the first time INTERIOR DESIGN's 30/30 has included designers in Kansas City.

Seaboard Corporation, one of Kansas City’s strongest businesses with a global footprint, engaged Perspective to reimagine their corporate headquarters in Merriam, Kansas, with the goal to enliven the original space to be representative of the diverse operations and rich company history. Seaboard desired a renovation that would reflect the company’s collaborative and family-like culture while also providing a professional atmosphere that would appeal to the next generation’s workforce. Perspective’s design solution utilizes bright and modern design elements with a warm industrial feel. Open layouts with perimeter glass front offices activate the previously closed off spaces bringing in natural light and clear views while accentuating the three-story glass atrium with skylight at the heart of the building. Inspired by Seaboard’s shipping operations, large wood planks, reminiscent of cargo ship decks are featured prominently at the entryway, receptionist desk and atrium while the break room on the 3rd floor features custom-designed “cargo container” seating booths for a quick meeting, or lunch with colleagues.

ATLAS9 was designed as a physical extension of the immersive story created by Dimensional Innovations—a monumental containment structure shaped by the impact of an unexplained phenomenon. Featuring a custom vertical hangar door by Perspective for F.A.Ç.A.D.E. operations and a sweeping curvilinear façade that doubles as a large-scale stage for projections, performances, and public updates, the architecture blurs the line between storytelling, spectacle, and place.
