Camgian Founder & CEO, Dr. Gary Butler, has been officially sworn in as a member of the newly established Science, Technology and Innovation Board (STIB) and is officially stepping into his role for a four-year term.

The STIB serves as a senior advisory body to the Department of Defense, providing guidance on the nation's most critical national security challenges. Its focus spans a broad range of priority areas, including artificial intelligence, cyber warfare, and advanced defense capabilities.

The board's mission is to ensure that emerging technologies are evaluated, developed, and delivered to the warfighter with both speed and precision.
Gary's expertise in AI and defense technology makes him an ideal voice on this board.

Camgian Chief Innovation Officer Dr. Jeff Aristoff led an applied math seminar at Colorado State University on April 23 titled AI and Quantum Approaches to Solving Combinatorial Optimization Problems in Space and Missile Defense.

The seminar examined how real operational challenges—such as satellite maneuver planning in contested space—can be addressed using reinforcement learning and quantum‑compatible optimization methods.

We value opportunities to connect advanced mathematics and AI to real‑world defense problems and to engage with the next generation of scientists and engineers.

The Fires Symposium was in our backyard this week in Lawton, OK, home to one of our main offices and where some of our best work gets done. 📍

Alongside leaders from the Field Artillery and Air Defense Artillery communities, we joined the conversation on how capabilities must evolve to meet emerging threats and how FA/ADA are modernizing to operate effectively in an increasingly complex cross-domain battlespace.

We demonstrated REACTOR®, our C2 decision layer built to accelerate and automate kill chains, showcasing the REACTOR FIRES application for deliberate targeting to optimize weapons-to-target pairing and automate tasks that support military decision-making while reducing staff cognitive burden.

🚀 Camgian is excited to welcome Kevin Courter to Camgian Labs!

Kevin has joined Camgian Labs as a Principal AI Engineer, where he will help lead advanced R&D and rapid prototyping efforts across AI/ML and space-focused initiatives. In this role, Kevin will work hands-on developing next-generation prototypes while helping shape the technical direction of our growing space and AI capabilities.

Kevin brings more than 25 years of experience in spaceflight systems, on-orbit compute, and applied AI/ML. Prior to Camgian, he held leadership roles at EOI Space, Maxar Technologies, and Blue Canyon Technologies, including serving as Chief Flight Software Engineer for the SDA Tranche 1 Tracking Layer.
