Irrigation Tech Overview:
Responsible for maintenance, repairing, and troubleshooting of irrigation systems. Troubleshooting systems to identify and correct deficiencies. Program control systems to maximize water efficiency. Detailed reporting of daily activities. Interface with clients and coworkers when needed. Good communication skills and 1-3 years is experience preferred.
Must have valid drivers license.
Pay rate: $18-$22 DOE
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Manage the installation of new or expanded drip and sprinkler systems
- Set and maintain times on controllers; troubleshoot all aspects of irrigation repairs
- Map systems for master plans
- Complete repairs as necessary, may instruct others in irrigation repairs
- Operate trenchers and rock saws to install/repair lines
- Operate the vehicle safely over an assigned route
- Follow all company safety, security policies and procedures; report any maintenance problems, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries: complete safety training and certification
- Comply with quality assurance expectations and standards
- Ensure uniform, company vehicle, and personal appearance are clean and professional
- Other duties as assigned
Physical Demands:
While performing the essentials of the job, the position requires physical abilities such as heavy lifting, pushing and pulling of up to 59 pounds, manual dexterity, wrist-finger movement, digging using a shovel and equipment. In addition, working conditions may include poor lighting, restricted movement, dirty environment, air contamination, extreme temperatures, intense noise, and lifting/carrying heavy objects. The employee must be physically coherent and aware at all times especially when dealing with heavy machinery, equipment, or while driving.
Schedule: 10 hour shift
Education: high school or equivalent (preferred)
Experience: Irrigation - 1 year preferred
License/certification: Drivers license
