Recycle that tree!

Did you know that recycled, live Christmas trees can be placed strategically along the coast to help preserve and rebuild coastal dunes? Due to the increasing number of recent coastal storms, beaches and sand dunes have eroded along the Gulf Coast, with an estimated 75% decrease specifically along Follet's Island in Brazoria County.

The Harvest Methodist Church wants to be a part of the solution. From December 26-Jan 11, you can drop off your live tree at the convenient collection site in our parking lot at 9029 Sienna Ranch Road. We’ll bring the group of donated trees to the Manvel Substation in Manvel, TX. From there, Brazoria County volunteers will collect and transport the trees down to Surfside for Dune’s Day in January 2026.

Instead of throwing away your tree after Christmas, donate it to a great cause that helps everyone! If you have questions, contact Sarah Boyd, [email protected]

Don't forget to drop your live or once living Christmas tree off at The Harvest United Methodist Church by the 10th of January. We will be recycling these and they will end up in Galveston on the beach to rebuild the sand dunes.

Update, no issues, tenderness disappeared and only real side effect was being tired towards end of day. But that could've been just because I worked hard. Have a great day!!
