happy 11 year anniversary to BDR rick buhl. 11 years....amazing. this is a pic from last year, rick had recently taken up baking as a hobby. bread, muffins, blondies, mug cakes, cobblers, etc.. you name it, he'll bake it. it's cute.

i can promise you that 11 years ago, baking anything with a pink spatula would have been the last thing on his manly man bootstrapping power tool using firewood axing survivor skills utilizing end of days prepping mind. i'd like to think we've helped him discover his "softer" more romantic side. you're welcome neila.

our relationship with the State goes way back, and not just on the construction side with the concession expansion, the awesome 25 seat Jewel private theatre, and the beautiful Intermission. my Dad and G'pa were both projectionists there and it's an honor they asked me to join the board, i kinda grew up watching spanish movies in the booth through that little 12x12 window. looking forward to helping Jeff realize everything he wants to accomplish as the new Executive Director; as a friend, as paradigm and as their newest board member! Jeff is a GREEEEAAATT guy

fun fact. Police Academy is one of the first rated R movies i secretly recorded off of cable to a VHS cassette with a label that said Bel Passi Little League Summer 1984. i mean let's be honest, who actually went back to watch little league baseball games....ever. i was never worried i would get caught.

some finish pics from Modesto Gospel Mission

the ladies will start moving in over the next few weeks. dormitory rooms for single woman and private rooms for the women with children. they expect to house 50 women + kids for the 12 month program.

this one turned out very nice. we completed many projects for non-profits over the years and these always hit differently when done.

congratulations yet again to our friends at

we have quite the storied relationship with Center for Human Services, they are after all the ones who gave us our first BIG break in 2015, and we are forever in debt to them for trusting such a young company at such a pivotal moment in their own journey. in a way we both kind of made giant leaps together into the next phases of our respective paths. for it to come full circle like this is pretty amazing and we couldn't be prouder of the new 7000 sq ft outpatient clinic that we just completed for them.

also big thanks to doug and dan. shawn and i sat this one out for the most part and we let those guys do their thing, and they could not have represented us, our company, and themselves any better.

let's not stop here...i think they need to keep expanding and i know we'll be there to help them each and every time.

we just wrapped a 5000 sq ft TI for the Hannah's House, which is a Women's New Program. The New Life Program helps people escape and recover from homelessness and addiction by teaching them practical, spiritual, emotional, social, educational, vocational, and financial skills. It's a 12-month program where residents work around the facilities to rebuild their work ethic; they're encouraged to go to church, and they're taught hands-on transferable skills.

this is the 2nd project we've completed for the Modesto Gospel Mission. they had their open house fundraiser saturday morning with around 250 people attending, they raised 100k which they intend to use for the landscaping.

congrats and we look forward to working together again.
