Monroe Garden Club

Monroe Garden Club Founded in 1952, we aim to share our love of gardening and inspire others. We meet the second Monday of each month at 12:00 noon. A light lunch is served.

Club business is discussed followed by a speaker on a garden related topic. Some months the meeting is replaced by a field trip. Some of our projects include:

Horticulture Scholarship
City of Monroe Beautification
Horticulture showing at Everegreen State Fair
Support the Sky Valley Food Bank

Monday, Anjum with Garden In Situ on East Main Street, and I spent a combined five hours cleaning the Main Street planters out. This morning Samantha Idle, Amy Martin, Sandy Brown, and myself, spent another nine combined hours planting 341 plants in the 31 planters. Thanks to Samantha for procuring the plants and to all the Adopt-a-Sponsors and Rotary Club of Monroe for their very generous donation. We couldn’t do this without your support! Plants planted are white cosmos, red geraniums, and parrot’s beak vine. We are excited to see what they look like in another month.
