Saturday, May 16th, 2026 was the annual Sam McGee Memorial Apprenticeship Competition. We use these competitions to mentor young apprentices, strengthen relationships over dinner after looongg days of work and practice, and encourage healthy competition within our industry while working together to promote masonry and help build the future workforce!
We typically practice as a “family” during the two weeks leading up to the competition, then show up on game day to support one another!
The young men representing McGee Brothers were:
Nicholas Sloop – 1st 🏆🥇 $1,000 and a trip to Nationals!
Blake Moore – 2nd 🥈
Easton McGee – 4th
Hector Cano-Campusano – 7th
Noah Brown – 9th

Chanler Whitaker (1st-year competition)
Grayson McGee, with Tender Colter McGee, won Fastest Trowel on the Block! 🏆🥇 $500 and a trip to Nationals!
Carter McGee, with Tender Chance Reynolds, finished 3rd in Fastest Trowel on the Block!
Congratulations to all the apprentices who chose to practice after work multiple nights throughout the week and dedicate their Saturday to competing in the craft they have been learning!
