FMG had the opportunity to participate in this year’s Mid-Atlantic Student Symposium which was hosted by the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown. Our own Hudson Rabenold was invited, and represented FMG well, as one of the judges. The three-day event is a gathering of civil engineering students from over thirty universities around the region. Students have the opportunity to showcase their skills and achievements by designing, building, and/or competing in various civil engineering activities. The event is part of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) out reach to engineering students throughout the country.

We want to welcome another person to the FMG team. This is Mark Cain.

Mark has over 20 years of surveying experience and has been licensed as a Professional Land Surveyor in the State of Pennsylvania since 2010. In his spare time, he enjoys being outdoors, traveling, and spending time with friends and family.

Mark will be heading up our surveying department. If you need FMG to perform any surveying services, please feel free to give him a call.

Approaching the finish line quickly on this first phase of a large ADA improvement project for UPMC. Then, the contractor will be moving onto the lower entrance of this same building to improve its accessibility. This particular project is one of UPMC’s medical office buildings located in our backyard of Monroeville, PA.

We want to welcome Elena (A-lain-a) Zandier to our FMG family. She recently graduated at the top of her class from Youngstown State University with a degree in Civil Engineering. We had the opportunity to work with her last year as a Summer Intern and knew back then that we needed to hire her full time once she graduated! She loves the outdoors and spends a lot of weekends up in Potter County at her family’s camp. We are blessed and very excited to have her join our team.

We appreciate being Jendoco’s guest at the Raising the Roof on the Rotunda celebration hosted by Bloomfield-Garfield Corporation. Glad to be part of the design team to transform this former worship space into a flexible events center in the East End neighborhoods of Pittsburgh.

Amanda is from Zelienople and is an Environmental Engineering student at Gannon University. She is going into her senior year and is involved on campus in a few different ways. She is the president of Gannon’s Society of Women Engineers chapter, vice president of Environmental Club, and is a member of Alpha Gamma Delta sorority. In the past she has interned in Environmental Health and Safety and worked as an assistant for the Environmental Engineering department at Gannon. She is excited to apply her specific knowledge of Environmental Engineering concepts to Civil Engineering related to site planning. She is also looking forward to visiting sites and being involved on projects around the area. Outside of work she likes to be outdoors, go to the gym, and cook/bake. She is very excited to be a new intern at FMG!

FMG is proud to be part of the design team for the Elizabeth Forward High School site and building improvement project. Phase One construction is well underway and includes a new physical plant, gymnasium, auditorium, and some classroom improvements. Plus, the construction of new parking lots, improved student drop-off and pick-up areas, a new softball field, a new soccer/lacrosse field, and upgraded utility connections.

Phase Two is in the design phase and will include a building addition that will house the new Middle School, more parking lots, a new baseball field, a new soccer/lacrosse field, and other site improvements.
