Legacy Forest Management LLC is actively engaged in combating the Colorado bark beetle infestation. Our current initiative involves the strategic deployment of Verbenone and MCH pheromone packets, which serve as a deterrent against bark beetle populations. Verbenone packets are specifically utilized by our forester Ty to mitigate the impact of mountain pine beetles, while MCH packets are employed to address Douglas-fir beetles. Given the recent increase in bark beetle activity within the San Luis Valley, Legacy Forest Management remains committed to implementing proactive forest management strategies as a solution to the ongoing forest health challenges in Colorado.

🚨 Breaking News 🚨

For decades, anti-forestry groups have weaponized the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) to delay or halt forest management activities that serve the public interest.

In a major decision today, the U.S. Supreme Court corrected the aggressive role that some courts have taken in reviewing an agency’s compliance under NEPA.

We are grateful to the Mountain States Legal Foundation for representing AFRC and other partners as amici in this landmark case.

We are hopeful today's ruling sets a clear precedent for restoring common sense to NEPA analysis and deferential judicial review, allowing land managers to move forward with projects that reduce catastrophic wildfire risks, restore forest health, and build more resilient landscapes.
